Description

You shall be working in the global Research and Development department, which is responsible for the development of product portfolio for the Grid Edge Solutions (GES) team.

The Hitachi Energy battery energy storage portfolio “e-meshTM PowerStoreTM” is a scalable energy storage solution that is designed to ensure reliable power availability, grid stability, highest possible penetration of renewable energy for both grid-connected and off-grid systems (microgrids).

The R&D team is located in the Hitachi Energy Grid Automation offices in Milan/Genoa, Italy.

Being part of a global team, you shall interact with the different stakeholders of the organization and Operational units worldwide.

Your focus shall be Modelling of Hitachi Energy e-meshTM product portfolio (PowerStore and Automation), with focus on integration of the models into Power System modelling and simulation tools.

The successful candidate will be mainly engaged in research and development activities and in particular sizing tools development for the “e-meshTM PowerStoreTM” battery storage systems.

As part of the R&D team you will have the opportunity to interact with Product Management, external consultants, and internal customers globally located.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sizing tools for the “e-meshTM PowerStoreTM” battery storage solution.
  • Support for documentation generation, version tracking and quality checks.
  • Give support to the R&D team’s activities.

General Requirements:
  • Master degree, preferred in either Electrical or Electronic Engineering, with focus on Power Systems and Power Electronics domain.
  • University students who are looking for a master thesis internship on these fields of application are welcome.
  • Excellent knowledge of Power System, Power Electronics and Control system modelling tools (Matlab, Simulink, Matlab GUI /App Designer).
  • Excellent communication in English is essential in our global organization.
  • Solid presentation skills and fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
  • High awareness for quality, process and tool in related area.
  • Self-motivated, independent, organized and structured way of working. Able to operate in a highly motivated team environment.
