Senior Architect

In 2022 Pirelli opened Pirelli Digital Solutions Center in Bari, the first development centre entirely focused on digital innovation, born with the goal of enriching internal skills in the most strategic areas for Pirelli. Pirelli Digital Center employees are involved in the development of software and algorithms destined for the most advanced processes of planning, manufacturing and marketing of the group’s tyres throughout the world.

Among the key projects being developed at the Pirelli Digital Solutions Center, there is the further strengthening of the Big Data platform for the collection, transformation and analysis of all the data from the company’s various ecosystems. This instrument enables the processing of algorithms to speed up product development times, further improve its quality, maximize machine efficiency, optimize commercial effectiveness and create new digital services. In addition, thanks to the new algorithms – supporting all company and factory functions – Pirelli will be able to conduct studies directly on the tyre’s “Digital Twin”, the digital replica of the physical product that enables the design and development of new performance analyses on virtual prototypes. In addition, thanks to the Industrial Internet of Things it will be possible to optimize the supply chain through predictive modelling of demand and improve production processes, predict maintenance of machinery with benefits in terms of cost and development times and savings of energy consumption and transformation costs.

The centre can count on a number of technologies including those of the Innovation room, a space which allows true digital co-working between employees in Bari and the around 500 people of the Pirelli Digital Team worldwide. It will also permit interaction with Pirelli Headquarters, Pirelli’s 18 plants in the world, suppliers, clients and the various university hubs with which the company collaborates in open innovation projects and skills’ exchange.

Summary:

As a Senior Architect of Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), you will be a crucial technical leader within our organization, tasked with spearheading the development and enhancement of our internal Teamcenter PLM team. In this role, you will leverage your exceptional technical competence and development capabilities to drive the successful implementation and integration of Siemens Teamcenter across our organization. Your expertise will be vital in guiding cross-functional teams, making critical design and architecture decisions, and delivering innovative solutions to fulfill our PLM requirements.

• Technical Leadership: demonstrate great technical expertise in Siemens Teamcenter PLM, serving as the go-to person for all technical matters related to the system. Build, lead and inspire the internal Teamcenter PLM team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement;
• PLM Strategy and Roadmap: Collaborate with stakeholders to define a robust PLM strategy and create a comprehensive roadmap. Your technical insights will be instrumental in aligning PLM initiatives with business objectives and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems;
• System Design and Architecture: Own the design and architecture of the Siemens Teamcenter PLM system, demonstrating a deep understanding of the platform's capabilities. Assess and select modules and functionalities that optimize productivity, scalability, and maintainability;
• Customization and Development: Leverage your development capabilities to create custom solutions that extend the capabilities of Siemens Teamcenter. Work closely with development teams to integrate PLM with other enterprise systems and tailor applications to meet specific business needs;
• Implementation and Upgrades: Lead the planning and execution of Siemens Teamcenter PLM implementations, including version upgrades and system enhancements. Your technical guidance will ensure a seamless transition and successful adoption of new features;
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of the Teamcenter PLM system. Utilize your technical prowess to identify areas for optimization and drive the implementation of efficiency improvements;
• Technical Evaluation: Stay abreast of Siemens Teamcenter updates, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. Conduct technical evaluations of new releases to assess their potential impact on our PLM strategy;
• Compliance and Security: Champion data security and regulatory compliance in all aspects of the Teamcenter PLM system. Implement robust measures to safeguard sensitive information and protect intellectual property;
• Technical Support and Training: Provide hands-on technical support to users and address complex technical issues. Develop comprehensive training materials to empower users and ensure optimal utilization of Siemens Teamcenter;
• Technical Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including system configurations, architecture diagrams, code repositories, and customization guidelines.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• Extensive experience (10 years) as a Teamcenter PLM Architect, with a proven track record of delivering technical implementations in PLM projects;
• In-depth knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter PLM modules, functionalities, and development capabilities;
• Demonstrated      expertise      in       programming      languages       and                                     customization       tools                         relevant to Siemens Teamcenter (e.g., C, C++, Java, ITK, BMIDE, etc.);
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to architect innovative solutions to complex technical challenges;
• Experience leading and mentoring technical teams, fostering a culture of technical growth and collaboration;
• Proven success in managing large-scale PLM projects from inception to successful implementation;
• Familiarity with CAD tools, as well as manufacturing processes, is a plus;
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels;
