NES Fircroft are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer aboard a Towing Vessel based in Venice, Italy for a 6 month contract.

This role is based on 8 hour days, on a Monday - Friday schedule and offers a competitive, all-inclusive day rate.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties including finalization of Engineering, Completion, Commissioning and assistance to Start Up of:
  • electrical motors on ship, i.e. in engine room and on deck.
  • switchboards, also including main switchboard and emergency switchboard.
  • fire detectors and fire alarm system.
  • alarm systems
  • electronic system fitted onboard ship.
  • navigational lights and other navigational equipment.
  • batteries that are connected to machineries onboard.
  • emergency batteries for alarm and lights
  • lifeboat batteries
  • batteries for emergency generator
  • other batteries fitted onboard
  • refrigeration unit in the engine room
  • air conditioning unit of the vessel.
  • cargo and engine room cranes electrical system.
  • main engine alarms and trips along with the chief engineer.Also requested to:
    • assist in watch keeping routines at desired time by the chief engineer.
    • assist in all kind of electrical problems.
    • prepare all electrical test memoranda
      EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND
      • Detailed Electrical Test Definition Activities
      • Support to Construction Activities
      • Support to Installation Activities
      • Support to Electrical Cabling and Connection Activities
      • Support to Commissioning Activities

        REQUIREMENTS: 
        Education:
        • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experienceRole:
          • Having been Electrical Engineer in important offshore/marine development projects including onsite construction activities
