Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Contribute to achieve agreed standard of operational quality on customs process.
Ensure a compliant, timely and accurate management of Customs process and documents in Italy.
Ensure smooth flow on customs activities performed in Italy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing development of Customs process, procedures, internal controls, and analytics that will contribute to the ongoing compliance management to ensure legal requirements with Customs authorities are met.
- Use appropriate and effective communication methods to stakeholders to successfully support customs compliance within the third-party premises.
- Support Customs Manager on any further authorization that may be applied in Italy particularly with regards to our Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status.
- Suggest potential improvements to reach higher efficiency and control of process.
- X-functional collaboration and support, especially with the different teams located in Italy.
- Assist and support on projects or initiatives inside Global Customs or lead by Customs Manager in Italy.
- Act as first customs contact point for any customs topics related to Italy DC.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Practical knowledge of customs clearance operations and customs regulations desirable
- Knowledge of supply chain operations is an advantage
- Proficient use of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) essential
- Demonstrated business reasoning, analytical and critical thinking
- Ability to deal with urgent deadlines by properly planning and organizing customs related issues
- Good planning and organizational skills, and ability to work and deliver in dynamic environments while adhering to specified deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Enthusiastic and reliable, positive, self-motivated
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, logistics, supply chain, information system or operations
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a customs business/department
- Fluency in Italian, Written and Spoken
- Fluency in English, Written and Spoken
