It is among the world’s major producers of tyres and associated services and the only one focused solely on the Consumer tyre market, which includes tyres for cars, motorcycles and bicycles. 

 

Within the Manufacturing department of Pirelli, the AI Engineer will play a crucial role in driving the enhancement and optimization of business operations and production processes. This key position will focus on the application of advanced artificial intelligence solutions to increase efficiency, quality, and sustainability at the core of Pirelli’s production. 
Specifically, the candidate will focus on the following activities:

• Design and development of Deep Learning models for specific Computer Vision applications within the manufacturing domain;
• Collaboration with engineers to integrate Artificial Intelligence solutions into production processes and final products;
• Research and development of new Computer Vision and AI techniques to keep Pirelli at the forefront of innovation;
• Analysis of image datasets to enhance quality and efficiency in the Manufacturing realm;
• Communication of technological advancements to internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies
• Work or research experience (2+ years) in the utilization of Deep Learning & Machine Learning techniques;
• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields;
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras;
• Familiarity with traditional Computer Vision techniques through libraries like OpenCV;
• Ability in processing large image datasets, knowledge of popular annotation tools such as CVAT\COCO\others;
• Experience in utilizing advanced libraries for data management, extraction, and analysis, such as Numpy, Pandas, and Scipy, and experience in applying traditional Machine Learning techniques via Scikit-Learn;
• Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras;
• OpenCV;
• CVAT\COCO\others;
• Fluency in English and Italian (both written and spoken);
• Excellent problem-solving skills, collaboration, and communication of results through visualization libraries like Matplotlib or Seaborn.
Nice to have
• Proficiency in development with cutting-edge AI technologies, including Transformer models and generative artificial intelligence, for example, through the utilization of platforms like HuggingFace;
• Skill in the use of GPT-3 and DALL·E for exploring specific generative artificial intelligence applications for computer vision;
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS and Docker.
