Director of Renewable Projects Development – Italy
Italy (flexible / remote-based)

A leading international Renewable Energy IPP is seeking an experienced Director of Renewable Projects Development to lead and deliver a substantial and growing utility-scale portfolio across Italy.

This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for progressing projects from post-investment decision through to ready-to-build (RTB) status. With a multi-GW pipeline spanning solar, wind and energy storage, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of nationally significant projects and play a pivotal role in Italy’s energy transition.

Manage and develop a team of project managers, setting clear goals, timelines and budgets
Coordinate external partners such as co-developers, consultants, legal and engineering advisors.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, risk management and reporting.
Act as the key interface between the Italian business and international headquarters.

Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in renewable energy project development in Italy
Strong track record delivering utility-scale solar, wind and/or storage projects
Deep knowledge of Italian permitting, interconnection and land frameworks
Fluent Italian and English
Senior, high-impact role with strategic ownership of a major Italian pipeline
Flexible, remote-based working within Italy
Monthly car allowance

Net per diem for business travel within Europe
