Lead Mechanical Engineer | Northern Italy (Milan) Role: Permanent, Lead Mechanical Engineer Sector: Data Centres / Pharmaceuticals / Life Sciences Outlook: 5+ Year Project Pipeline Package: Executive level + Negotiable Benefits A leading international multi-disciplinary engineering contractor specializing in high-value projects for global "blue-chip" clients. Known for a performance-focused culture, they are a primary partner for major developments across Europe in the Data Centre and Power sectors. You will take full ownership of the mechanical engineering life cycle, from design management through to final commissioning. Engineering Leadership: Manage design reviews, equipment selection (long-lead items), and BIM coordination. Project Delivery: Oversee procurement (RFQs), technical submittals, and vendor negotiations. Quality & Commissioning: Lead FATs/SATs, system walk-downs, and pressure/leakage testing protocols. Mentorship: Act as the technical lead and coach for a multi-functional team of junior and graduate engineers. Commercial Oversight: Identify value engineering opportunities and manage technical risks to protect project margins. Experience: 10+ years in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering, including 3+ years in a Lead/Managerial role . Proven track record in Data Centres or Pharmaceutical projects is highly preferred. Strong background in hydraulic/ESP calculations, stress analysis, and P&ID red-lining. Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering. Based in or willing to relocate to the Milan region.
