Datacolor is actively seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our global workforce. Data Engineers at Datacolor are responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data infrastructure that powers our products. This position requires a strong engineer and persistent problem solver, who has a desire to: 1) take pride in overall data quality and architecture, 2) solve challenging problems around data movement and scale, 3) learn new skills as the need arises. The Data Engineer is an experienced professional who collaborates on a team responsible for data transfers, database architecture, and building the foundation for big data initiatives with an eye toward artificial intelligence. The main duties are to design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and database systems, support the domain work of the product development teams, and to create and maintain the Microsoft Azure resources that support them, coordinating with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality data products is essential. You report directly to the Software Manager. Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes Architect, implement, and maintain relational and non-relational database structures, including Azure SQL Database and Cosmos DB Create, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure resources supporting data transfer, storage, and processing Build and orchestrate data workflows using Azure Data Factory Prepare and structure data to support big data and artificial intelligence initiatives, including integration with Azure Machine Learning and Cognitive Services Ensure the best possible performance, quality, reliability, and security of data systems Cooperate with the backend and front-end development teams to ensure data is delivered efficiently to applications and APIs Cooperate with product management to develop products best suited to customer needs Research and experiment with new architecture, technologies, services, and tools Understand the project domain in order to keep the data suite cohesive and customer-focused Coordinate best practices among engineers on related data projects Experience &

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent years of work experience Proven professional experience building data pipelines and database solutions with Microsoft Azure resources Strong proficiency in SQL and C#/.
NET Hands-on experience with Azure resources such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Cosmos DB Familiarity with tools such as Power BI for reporting capabilities Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning and Cognitive Services, or a strong interest in applying data engineering practices to AI initiatives Knowledge of best practices in database architecture, data modeling, and design patterns Understanding of complex data structures and algorithms to solve problems Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks autonomously, with minimal supervision Certification in Microsoft technologies is a plus Fluent English language, both oral and written, is a must Fluency in utilization of AI coding agents is a must This role is a hybrid role, based in our Reggio Emilia office, Italy. - 60,000 gross per year. This job posting includes a pay range, reflecting the salaries or hourly rates that Datacolor anticipates it might offer for the specified role at the time of posting.
