About the Role The Field Superintendent – Erection is responsible for supervising all site activities related to the erection and launching of precast deck segments, as well as overseeing the assembly and operations of specialized erection machinery and equipment. The role ensures that all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with design specifications and project requirements. We are hiring in Milan (Italy), Castelfranco Veneto (Italy) or globally, at worldwide level . Responsibilities Supervise the erection and launching of precast deck segments for bridges, viaducts, and other elevated structures. Oversee and coordinate the assembly, installation, and commissioning of specialized erection machinery, including segment launchers, overhead gantries, cranes, and other heavy lifting systems. Ensure that all machine assembly activities—mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical—are performed according to technical specifications, alignment tolerances, and safety standards. Participate in planning and monitor all critical phases of both machine assembly and segment erection, including preparation, lifting, alignment, positioning, stressing, and final inspection. Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring correct use of PPE and adherence to operational safety procedures by all personnel involved in assembly and erection works. Maintain detailed progress reports covering assembly and erection activities, recording performance data, identifying potential issues, and supporting site management with accurate field information. Provide training, supervision, and technical guidance to site personnel, promoting best practices, teamwork, and continuous improvement in segmental erection and machine assembly operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience). Required Skills Proven experience (10+ years) in a similar role with in-depth knowledge of erection and launching techniques for precast elements, including pushing, lifting, and launching using cranes, trolleys, or launching girders. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Experience managing teams of laborers in an industrial or construction setting. Strong focus on safety, quality, and production efficiency. Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Intermediate English knowledge. Preferred: Crane Operator Licence. Driving Licence.
