Freelance Opportunity: Italian-Speaking SAP Data Migration Lead

Location: Remote + Onsite in Milan (Every 2 or 3 Weeks, Tuesday to Thursday)
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6-Month Contract + Extensions

We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Lead with strong Italian language skills to support a major transformation programme. This is a freelance/contract role starting immediately, offering predominantly remote work with onsite presence in Milan every 2–3 weeks.

As the SAP Data Migration Lead, you will be responsible for defining, managing, and delivering the full data migration lifecycle for a large-scale SAP implementation. You will work closely with business and technical teams to ensure accurate, secure, and seamless data transition into the new SAP environment.

Define the scope, timelines, and deliverables for all data migration activities.
Develop and lead the end-to-end SAP data migration strategy.
Collaborate with business analysts and functional consultants to capture and validate data requirements.
Oversee data cleansing, validation, enrichment, and reconciliation processes.
Coordinate manual and automated data loads using tools such as LSMW, LTMC, SAP Migration Cockpit, ALE, and SAP BODS.
Troubleshoot data migration issues and ensure smooth execution.
Minimise disruption to business operations during cutover and migration phases.

Fluent or strong spoken Italian is essential.
Knowledge of SAP modules such as FI, CO, SD, MM, PS is an advantage.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools including SAP BODS, LSMW, and Migration Cockpit.
Proven experience working with large datasets and complex data structures.
Solid background in SAP Data Migration and Cutover Activities.
Experience in full life cycle SAP implementations.
Familiarity with data governance and master data management principles.
Flexibility to travel for onsite work in Milan as required.
