Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated RAMS Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pistoia/Napoli

Accountabilities

  • Developing of RAM activities in multi-company projects starting from the tender activities.
  • Analysis of the contractual and regulatory requirements relating to, reliability and maintainability aspects of the vehicle.
  • Allocation of RAM requirements to the vehicle subsystems.
  • Tender and project documentation inspection and developing of the RAM analysis in order to verify compliance with the RAM requirements including the calculation of the life cycle cost for the aspects of maintenance.
  • integration of the RAM analyses developed by the suppliers in the vehicle documentation.
  • Verification of all the solution for optimization of the maintenance plan
  • Verification of design solution on the maintainability point of view
  • Interface with design dept to replace obsolete components man

Required Skills/ Knowledge

  • Experience to perform the aforementioned accountabilities as dictated in section above
  • Knowledge of maintainability design and implementation process. The skill includes the ability to review maintenance documentation from sub-suppliers, the ability to develop reliability and maintenance analysis necessary to keep systems or equipment in full operation.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance task and its economical impact on the Total Cost of Ownership
  • Master of Science or technical degree required preferably in Mechanical, Aero-space, Electrical, Electronics;
  • Minimum 5 years working experience on mass transit or Railways mainline projects in RAMS/LCC management
  • Knowledge of the main office automation software / tools (Word, Excel, etc.) is essential.

  • knowledge of RAMS Standard EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129 and EN62402 is a preferential title.
  • knowledge of main RAMS Software tools (Isograph Reliability Workbench, Item ToolKit, etc.) is a preferential title.

Education / Qualifications

Master's Degree in Engineering (Railway/Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics disciplines are a preferential title)


Languages

Knowledge of written and spoken English (at least B2 level)
