We are partnered with a fast growing energy developer in Italy focused on battery storage. The business already has projects under permitting and its first site ready to build which places them at a pivotal stage of growth. They sit within a wider energy group active in hydrogen, interconnectors and large cable projects and are backed by significant investment. With further capital raises on the horizon, they are now looking to appoint a senior technical leader to drive project execution and delivery across the battery storage portfolio. With this being a smaller team, the ideal candidate will be well rounded with experience in overseeing the execution of battery storage projects, managing suppliers and contractors and bringing a strong technical background in BESS. They should also have operational awareness, project management capability and commercial understanding. Role: CTO / Head of Technical Operations Location: Largely remote with travel to Milan and other international offices Sector: Battery Storage / Energy Transition Experience required: Battery storage project execution and supplier management. English and Italian proficiency essential Overview of the Role This position leads all technical and delivery activity for the battery storage division. It requires strong experience in batteries, hands on leadership and the ability to ensure alignment between engineering and operations. The person will manage suppliers, oversee contracting and support projects through execution and delivery stages. The business is flexible on location and understands that the talent pool is spread across Italy. Occasional travel to the Milan office is required but the role can be predominantly remote. The ideal profile will have strong managerial experience within the battery sector and proven capability in leading project execution and supplier management. Key Responsibilities Include: • Overseeing execution of battery storage projects • Managing suppliers and coordinating contracting • Ensuring alignment between engineering and operations • Leading delivery activity across the portfolio • Working closely with the Managing Director and COO • Contributing to ongoing growth and development of the division Candidate Requirements: • Proven experience in battery storage delivery and execution • Strong managerial capability with hands on technical understanding • Experience working with suppliers and contractors • Fluent Italian and English • Comfortable with occasional travel to the Milan office • Ability to work closely with senior leadership and wider project teams If this is of interest please apply on LinkedIn or email bethany.crofts@everec.co.uk
