Senior Dev Ops Engineer - Italy (Ispra) Ispra, Italy - Hybrid (2 days on-site per week)Salary: ~35,000 € SBALong-term project | EU Institution environmentEnglish required About the Role We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join a long-term project within a European research and innovation environment. You will work on-site in Ispra (2 days per week) and support a wide ecosystem of tools, infrastructure, and Dev Ops processes. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on technical expertise and solid experience in automation, CI/CD, Linux systems, and containerized environments. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain Git Lab CI/CD servers and pipelines. Oversee containerized environments using Docker and Swarm clusters. Develop automation workflows using Ansible. Administer and troubleshoot Ubuntu LTS Linux systems. Manage Postgre SQL databases, including Barman backup, restore procedures, and master-slave configuration. Ensure proper backup and recovery policies across systems. Provide end-user support for day-to-day operational issues. Collaborate with the team to ensure infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security. Apply strong networking knowledge in daily activities. Requirements Master's degree + 11 years of experience, OR Bachelor's degree + 15 years of experience Strong experience in: Git Lab CI/CD (server management) Docker & container orchestration (Swarm) Ansible automation Linux systems (Ubuntu LTS) Postgre SQL, Barman backup, master-slave replication Backup/restore policies Networking fundamentals Ability to work on-site in Ispra 2 days/week Fluent in English (written and spoken) About the Project You will be working on-site at a major EU research centre, contributing to projects related to scientific innovation, sustainability, energy, and geospatial data.
