Purpose of the position: The Offshore & Onshore Transport Buyer is a strategic role within the Procurement department, you will respond to the Shipping and Transport Procurement Manager and be part of the Supply Chain function. The position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing end-to-end logistics solutions. This includes standard land transportation ( onshore ) and highly complex maritime or remote supply chain operations ( offshore).

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute procurement strategies for land transport (road, rail, heavy-lift/oversized cargo) and maritime operations (chartering, Offshore Support Vessels, Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels etc.)
Tender Management (RFQ): Lead complex international freight tenders, understand technical offers, and ensure total cost transparency.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate freight rates, spot/long-term Charter Parties, Incoterms, demurrage/detention terms, and fuel adjustment factors (Bunker/Fuel Surcharges).
Strong command of international transport law, including CMR conventions, Bills of Lading, and specific offshore charter-party frameworks (e.g., BIMCO standards).
Risk & Claim Management: Mitigate logistical risks related to weather delays, port congestion, and customs bottlenecks. Manage commercial claims for damaged cargo or operational downtime.

What are we looking for?

Education: Master’s Degree/Bachelor’s degree

Experience: 5 years as a Transport Buyer/Shipping & Customs Officer within Oil&Gas / Energy sector

Languages: good proficiency in both written and spoken English

Technical/IT Skills: Logistics & Maritime Knowledge: Deep understanding of global shipping lanes, chartering markets, port operations, and heavy-lift onshore transport engineering requirements. Microsoft Office applications. Procurement Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems (specifically SAP and SAP ARIBA )

What else should you know? Some travelling will be expected within Italy and/or abroad.
