Invoice By Amazon (IBA) provides a single supplier invoice product as the default experience for all Amazon Business (AB) customers in Europe and India with upcoming expansion in JP and MX. As more and more customers adopt the IBA experience, we face increasingly complex architectural challenges. We are currently directing our efforts towards scaling our systems and reducing parity gaps in order to provide a seamless experience for all our customers. With our product rapidly expanding, our long term vision is to continue providing new features that facilitate the procurement process for all our business customers around the world.
Key Job Responsibilities
Develop deep understanding of ordering, accounting and payments technical platforms.
Design and modify scalable software architecture of full stack systems.
Work independently to deliver and maintain medium sized features.
Apply software engineering best practices to the development life cycle (incremental delivery, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, operations...).
Engage in continuous prioritization efforts to balance out fast paced business requirements with long term technical investments.
A Day in the Life
Supporting teammates through collaboration and mentoring.
Shipping and reviewing Java and AWS CDK code for new features on IBA and other Amazon systems.
Driving improvements on team-level code quality, process efficiency and knowledge sharing.
Troubleshooting a wide variety of customer issues all across AB ordering domain.
Focusing on Operational Excellence (development processes, monitoring, code deployment, automated testing, dashboarding...).
Work with partner teams to enable key IBA behaviors on their platforms.
About the TeamIBA team has 3 two-pizza teams in Madrid. Ownership spaces are wide range, from Customer Experience, Notifications, Flash sale, Monitoring, to Compliance, Accounting and Payments. To provide a seamless experience for our customers, we own spaces and features across all Amazon. Due to the synergies of IBA, engineers in our team work regularly with the owners of foundational platforms across ordering, accounting and payments lifecycle. This poses a great challenge in terms of cooperating with stakeholders from very diverse domains, but comes with equally great opportunities to have a big impact, grow and innovate.
Basic Qualifications
Experience (non-internship) in professional software developmentExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsExperience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentExperience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
