Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MV/HV Electrical Lead Engineer to manage and lead the electrical studies and engineering of grid connection projects — from site to grid connection point.
The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with technical and contractual requirements, provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, and serve as a key technical liaison between internal teams, grid operators (DSO/TSO), and external partners.

Main Missions
1. Electrical Studies Management

~ Oversee MV/HV electrical studies of the projects.


~ Ensure compliance with the Italian Grid Code and relevant technical standards.


~ Define metering solutions in accordance with DSO/TSO regulations.


2. DSO/TSO Management

~ Develop and maintain strong relationships with DSO/TSO stakeholders.


~ Negotiate optimal interconnection conditions.


~ Secure commissioning permits and final grid connection approvals from DSO/TSO.


3. Construction Support

~ Review pre-construction project packages to ensure all DSO/TSO technical and contractual requirements are met.


~ Support construction teams during PV plant construction, interconnection facility works, and commissioning activities.


~ Provide on-site expertise for MV & HV grid connection issues.


~ Report all relevant project information from exchanges with DSO/TSO to the internal team.


4. Engineering Support

~ Provide technical support to the Engineering team for the MV electrical package of PV plants.


~ Lead the MV/HV engineering of grid connections for each project.


~ Produce or review selectivity studies, protection coordination, and MV cable sizing.


5. Procurement Support

~ Provide technical input during procurement of MV/HV equipment.


~ Prepare technical specifications and electrical designs for transformers and delivery stations in PV plants.


~ Review and align technical offers from equipment integrators.


~ Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and plant commissioning.


~ Support the Purchasing Department in selecting qualified integrators.


6. Development Support

~ Assist Development Project Managers in technical meetings with DSO/TSO.


~ Support the review of cost-sharing agreements for grid connection solutions.


~ Provide technical input for administrative design reviews (DIA, AAPAAC).


~ Coordinate with external engineering advisors and consultants.


~ Conduct grid connection due diligence for potential M&A projects.


~ Assess opportunities and risks related to various connection scenarios.


~ Support early-stage project development regarding grid constraints and feasibility.


Profile

~ Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.


~5–10 years of experience in MV/HV grid connection engineering, preferably in renewable energy (solar PV, wind, or similar).


~ Solid understanding of Italian DSO/TSO interconnection processes.


~ Strong communication and negotiation skills.


~ Fluent in Italian and English (French is a plus).


-Usual MS Office software’s, knowledge in AutoCAD

-Electrical simulation software (DigSilent, Etap…)

-Training: Technical Degree Target schools: Electrical Engineering School Experience required: 8 years or more in the RE grid connection or in an Italian grid operator company
