Job Description:

The candidate will be integrated into a team of security engineers, network engineers, and technicians, working on several projects focused on engineering Ground Segments for satellite communication systems. The activity includes:

  • Design, development, integration, and validation of Network & Cyber Security architectures for new projects.
  • Specialist support during maintenance phases for troubleshooting Network & Cyber Security equipment.
  • Support to bidding process (delivering of the Network & Security documents and support to design of new projects).

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Perform the analysis and consolidation of requirements concerning the Cyber Security architecture of Ground Segments for satellite communication systems.
  • Contribute to design, development, implementation, deployment, and testing of a Cyber Security architecture.
  • Define networking solutions, configure, and troubleshoot physical and virtual equipment of the Ground Segment infrastructure.
  • Define Cyber Security System Management processes, configuration, and procedures.
  • Scan the critical assets of the Ground Segments' infrastructures and identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities with regard to intrusions or cyber attacks.
  • Maintain and analyze the Ground Segments' infrastructures with a particular focus on their correct classification in order to highlight critical issues and associated risks.
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of a Ground Segment infrastructure according to the applicable security requirements and risk analysis.
  • Produce documentation such as project slides, test procedures, analysis reports, and drafting processes and procedures.

Technical skills and attributes:

  • Technical Requirement management (reference of previous experience).
  • System engineering approach (reference of previous experience).
  • Knowledge of data communications systems (Wired, Satellite, Radio/Mobile).
  • Knowledge of information security management standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of bash scripting.
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and databases (SQL, Oracle).
  • Good knowledge of virtual environments (VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of microservices architectures with containers.
  • Knowledge of legacy, mobile, and digital security detection techniques.
  • Good knowledge of cyber attack techniques and their countermeasures within the security engineering framework.
  • Familiarity with security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, STIG, and GDPR.
  • Knowledge of security technologies and products (such as SIEM, Log Management and Tools Analysis, endpoint security tools, forensic tools, Network and Security Management Tools).
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security.
  • Availability to work in defense/military projects.
  • Availability to be subjected to Security Clearance process.
  • Availability to move outside the place of work for meetings and installations (Italy and Abroad).
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Capability of team working with sharing competence, activity, and goals.

Considered as a plus:

  • Knowledge of firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, NAC, Web Application Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of protocols/methodologies such as SSO - SAML - Federations.
  • Previous experience in managing and deploying security solutions and configuration in large and distributed ICT environments.
  • Good experience in the Cybersecurity domain, gained in security services companies, system integrators, vendors, or telecommunication companies.

  • English Language:
    • Understanding: B1/B2
    • Speaking: B1/B2
    • Writing: B1/B2

Qualifications: Degree in computer engineering or telecommunication engineering or similar or Technical Superior Study in technical/scientific area. Preferred experience in Computer and information technologies.

Experience: 3/5 years at least.

Place of work: Rome Headquarters. Availability to move outside Rome for on-site activities (Italy and Abroad).

Seniority: Junior.

Contract Type: Permanent.
