Solution Engineer

The Solution Engineer has the duty to define the proper solutions for customers, to create lean quotations that embody a package of AVL and third-party products as well as necessary services, to meet the customer’s specified requirements and to ensure accurate cost calculation following setup sales strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • The Solution Engineer is responsible for creating solutions and quotations that embody a package of equipment, software, and services that meet the customer's specified requirements, ensuring that the cost calculated is accurate.
  • He/she is responsible for the “quotation project”, creating and managing the proposal team, keeping the proposal timeline.
  • He/she is the technical counterpart to the customer. By his/her broad technical knowledge (customer application knowledge and knowledge of AVL solutions), the Solution Engineer is able to support the customer in creating the RFQ and/or to challenge an already existing RFQ with the customer to adapt this RFQ and to find the right solutions for the special customer needs.
  • The Solution Engineer explains and discusses the AVL solution/offer to the customer, shows him/her the AVL USPs and the added value in the solution, and discusses possible adjustments, changes, and deviations also at customer locations.
  • Provides market feedback for future solution development and innovative approaches to increase sales revenues.
  • Works with the Business Development team to create strategic plans and product enhancements to increase market share and maximize revenue.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Automation, Electrical,...)
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in related or similar fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and creativity skills.
  • Building effective relationships.
  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Customer orientation.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English is required.
  • Available for business travel abroad.
