Senior Multiplayer Programmer JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for an experienced Senior Multiplayer Programmer to join our high-calibre team based in Milan (Italy). This is a great chance to work on an innovative project which aims to deliver a brand new experience to PC/Console platforms. You will work in a cooperative, cross-disciplinary team environment to implement game features and systems within Unreal Engine.

- Collaborate with designers, artists and other engineers to implement and fine-tune multiplayer game features;
- Design and write clean, robust, maintainable code respecting the company’s standards;
- Contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of the game’s production and development;
- Ensure the technical quality of the project through tuning and bug fixing;
- Follow and enhance the existing development process and set standards;
- Educate other team members on programming issues and concepts;
- Feature estimation and reporting to Team Lead;
- At least 2 published titles or at least 4 years of experience as a network programmer on PC and consoles using Unreal Engine;
- A deep understanding of the Unreal Engine multiplayer game framework and how to architect Unreal game code for multiplayer;
- Work with the coding team on best practices and policies for client/server development in Unreal;
- A deep understanding of latency, bandwidth and client/server considerations for real-time multiplayer games;
- Strong knowledge of synchronization and replication techniques such as lockstep(+input delay), prediction, rollback, etc.. ;
- Design and implement multiplayer client-side game code to support a variety of real-time multiplayer modes for a cutting-edge game in Unreal Engine
- Excellent knowledge of C++11 or later and programming methodologies (OOP, Data-driven, Service-oriented, etc.);
- Ability to design effective code architecture for large game projects;
- Strong problem solving, conceptual and analytical skills;
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize effectively;
- Open mind, strong communication skills and ability to work in a team;
- Proficiency in English;
- You’re passionate about games and creating games;
- A keen sense of fun gameplay.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching team members;
- Experience in code reviewing and knowledge of reviewing tools (e.g. Helix Swarm);
- Familiarity with Helix Core (Perforce)
- Strong knowledge of programming algorithms and understanding multithreading on CPUs;
- Strong knowledge of console architectures and optimization techniques.
