We are looking for a Mechanical System Engineer to join our Rail Engineering Unit and contribute to advanced railway projects, with a focus on the development and integration of gangway and railway coupling subsystems.

Main activities:

  • Define, manage, and verify mechanical subsystem requirements in compliance with railway standards and project specifications.
  • Support the integration of mechanical subsystems into railway vehicles, managing mechanical, kinematic, structural, and functional interfaces.
  • Contribute to subsystem architecture, configuration, and operating modes.
  • Coordinate Verification & Validation activities, including functional, mechanical, and integration testing.
  • Act as the technical reference for assigned subsystems, interfacing with customers, suppliers, designers, and project teams.
  • Participate in Design Reviews and technical meetings.
  • Collaborate with Requirements Management, Mechanical Design, Structural Engineering, RAMS, Safety, Validation, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, interface documentation, test procedures, and verification reports.

Technical skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience or knowledge of System Engineering applied to mechanical systems.
  • Experience in requirements management, interface definition, mechanical integration, and V&V.
  • Knowledge of mechanical/kinematic interfaces, loads, movements, installation constraints, and operating conditions.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in technical English.
  • Experience in the railway industry and knowledge of gangway, coupler, or inter-vehicle connection systems will be considered a plus.
