If you want to know more about us, give a look here: Join us as a Staff Engineer What you will be doing This role is based at our headquarters in Milan and, as a Staff Engineer, you’ll be a valued contributor in a cross-functional, agile team. Your role will be to coach, support, and help everyone in the team with a hands-on approach (a lot of Java) on the most complex feature developments. You’ll become part of the IT team and build the products and features to make Satispay the best payment system available. We are constantly figuring out what our users really need, adding new features to existing products, and creating entirely new products. You and your team will own the work from the whiteboard all the way into production. Reporting to the Head of Engineering you’ll also influence and drive our architecture and help us shape the technical vision and long-term technology strategy. It ranges from Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Java, Jersey, Spring, and Dynamo DB. We also use AWS for our infrastructure, composed of a set of RESTful microservices deployed on EC2, using RDS/Dynamo DB for db persistence, S3 for file storage and AWS Lambda for serverless functions, Kinesis and ElasticSearch for log streaming. You have: Experience leading engineering teams at consumer-focused companies, fostering the best engineering practices Extensive experience as a Software Engineer in an agile environment before becoming a technical leader A preference for simple solutions and an obsession with quality You are: Passionate about what you do and have a high interest in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise Enthusiastic about taking on new challenges and working under pressure in a fast-paced international environment An excellent communicator and relationship builder Highly organized and able to work both in a team and independently. Logistic & Salary The role is based in Milan with a hybrid work policy. We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Stock option plan available.
