Offer Description
The project focuses on the electrophysiological investigation of the pathophysiological mechanisms of synaptic transmission in neurological and neurodevelopmental epileptic disorders. The research will address the mechanisms disrupting the balance between excitatory and inhibitory transmission, with particular emphasis on GABAergic dysfunction and modulation of synaptic receptors. The candidate will independently design and perform experiments using cellular electrophysiological techniques and will carry out electrophysiological and statistical data analysis and modelling. The project also includes critical interpretation of the results, preparation of scientific manuscripts in English, and dissemination of findings, with the aim of identifying synaptic mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
