AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest cost for our customers. Key Job Responsibilities Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities‐related issues, overseeing the operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.
Perform root‐cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facility issues within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and work with the Facility Manager to set team culture.
Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams.
Assist in the build‐out of new facilities and support projects to increase current facility efficiency.
Work outside normal business hours for routine maintenance and respond to out‐of‐hours emergency calls.
Establish building performance benchmarks and conduct analyses, preparing reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
Utilize basic administrative tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for day‐to‐day tasks.
4+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment OR 8+ years of technical (military/trade school) training and/or experience with relevant data center facilities equipment.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering field or mechanical/electrical trade.
Operating engineering licenses such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent.
Stationary Engineering or Building Engineering license.
Electrical or mechanical Journeyman license.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Equity, sign‐on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
