Roles & Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Implementation & Support group is responsible for adapting and geographically expanding innovative products across our premium wellness and therapeutic product portfolios. This position is responsible for European pet food product development projects. Initially approx 80% for projects servicing the Hill’s Desenzano plant. The individual in this position is responsible for pet food development projects and maintenance of existing pet food formulations, both within Hill’s as well as Co-Manufacturing plants. Part of the job responsibility is development and maintenance of pet food ingredient specifications, the execution of Funding the Growth projects as well as supporting European Supply Chain / Sourcing initiatives relative to Quality / Sourcing or Production related projects ( for example qualification of alternative raw material suppliers). Collaboration on product design with our claims and clinical studies group will help ensure final formulas deliver required efficacy and claims.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Job Function

  • Develop and maintain European pet food product formulations and specifications
  • Conduct plant tests and implement final formulations
  • Identify, specify and maintain process specifications
  • Develop and maintain pet food raw material specifications
  • Support the qualification of new raw materials or new suppliers
  • Execute Funding the Growth projects
EXPECTED PERCENTAGE OF TRAVEL: 10-30 %

Education And Functional Experience Required

  • Required: University / Bachelor degree in Food Technology or equivalent
  • Preferred: Master degree in Food Technology or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: 3+ years, working experience in product development - food
  • Preferred: 3+ years, working experience in pet food or baby food development

Expected Gross Annual Salary Range: €44.000 ─ €49.000 gross per year

This position is offered under a permanent employment contract.

The role is governed by the applicable Italian National Collective Bargaining Agreement (“CCNL”) [Contratto Alimentari Industria], including the relevant job classification and economic provisions applicable to the position.
