Progress Rail Signaling Spa is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Verification & Validation Engineer .
The position is based in Italy and it’s open to our offices in Pistoia, Roma, Genova and Bologna.
Founded in 1958 in Pistoia, Italy, as ECM, Progress Rail Signaling Spa has been servicing the railway infrastructure for well over sixty years in a constant pursue of innovation and cutting-edge technology. Leader in producing power supply Units for railway and stations, signalling systems with LED technology, Automatic Train Protection Systems, ERTMS both trackside and trainborne subsystems.
Its Computer Based Interlocking system is a powerhouse of scalability and flexibility, managing hundreds of miles of railway from one central control room. Progress Rail Signaling, part of Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, offers complete signaling solutions under the ECM brand for any railway infrastructure need all over the world.
Execute the technical activities and analysis to demonstrate compliance of the product / application with the entry requirements and with the applicable regulations and normative.
Manages and carries out the planned technical activities at the hardware, software and system / sub-system level, knowing the main tools and tools for carrying out these activities;
# Reports any problems encountered during the execution of the activities to the Project Manager to identify possible solutions to problems, in compliance with the agreed work program;
# It is able to write a first revision of Product and / or Generic Application and Specific Application Safety Case, depending on the work context;
# It is able to technically support the safety choices implemented on products / applications during audits and test witnessing with assessors and with the customer.
# When applicable, it manages the external Technical interface to any suppliers for monitoring and completion of the technical verification and validation activities;
# When applicable, it is able to perform tests and checks directly on the plants, to perform tests in real operating conditions.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electronic, electric, computer science, telecommunication) or equivalent experience;
# MS Office suite; MS Visual Studio suite, Autocad as viewer; MS Project; Windows O.S. as user;
# FMEA and FTA techniques, Hazard Analysis and tracking experiences, Formal technical inspection of documents, Fault injection tests, HW/SW Integration tests, module tests executed with cantata, vector cast or similar tools;
# Language skills:
# Italian mother tongue (or equivalent)
# English knowledge: Others: (French, Spanish, German, etc)
