PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Construction Manager to join our client on a Data Centre project in Italy. This is a full time, permanent role based in Bertonico.
The Job:
This role will be responsible for managing all Mechanical works on site, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Requirements
- Manage and oversee all Mechanical construction activities across the project lifecycle
- Lead day-to-day mechanical site operations in coordination with the wider project team
- Ensure QA/QC processes are implemented and maintained in line with project specifications and standards
- Coordinate project schedules with Planners, Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, and design teams
- Manage mechanical subcontractor performance, including progress tracking, manpower levels, and coordination meetings
- Ensure all subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained and up to date
- Attend and lead Site Meetings, Engineering Reviews, Planning Meetings, and Handover Meetings
- Liaise with the design team to ensure construction information and technical submittals are issued in line with programme requirements
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure quality, compliance, and buildability of mechanical systems
- Ensure adherence to health & safety standards and drive a strong safety culture on site
- Support commercial management by tracking variations, managing costs, and attending weekly commercial meetings
- Issue progress reports to senior management and the project team
- Manage mechanical snagging activities and ensure effective and timely close-out
- Proactively identify and resolve technical, design, and coordination issues
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar discipline
- Minimum 8+ years' experience within mechanical construction, with a focus on site management
- Proven experience managing mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, and associated services) on large-scale construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, coordination, and programme delivery
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, installation practices, and commissioning processes
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and drive project delivery
- Data centre, industrial, or mission-critical project experience is advantageous
