As a Forming Specialist, you will be responsible for performing technical duties and developing techniques at Bottero customer’s glass plants, such as:
Start up of glass container productions on Bottero installations, from the first glass gob loaded on the IS machine, to an acceptable level of production efficiency and quality.
Correct jobs with unacceptable level of performance of quality and productivity by acting on the setup and specifications of Hot End equipment. Implement on Customer’s production lines services as “Performance Tests”, targeting the Key Performance Indexes agreed between Bottero and the Customer.
Sampling under glass new containers as “New Product Development” projects. Training the Customers’ personnel as well as Bottero personnel on the Glass Making process.
Analyzing basic forming process data points, including but not limited to blank and blow moulds temperatures, gob length, glass gobs temperatures.
Setting of Dynamic Forming System / Gob Weight Controller and other process control systems
Timing the events that control the IS Machine and Hot End equipment.
Tracking performance of jobs to determine root cause and corrective actions for low performance or poor quality.
Sharing the correct Job Change Operations to speed up the process glass-to-glass.
Analyzing advanced forming process data points including but not limited to complete refiner and forehearth temperatures, combustion, machine cooling curves and slopes, complete machine timing maps across all plant processes, air pressures, machine water and lubrication settings and suggests changes to improve process stability and efficiency.
Providing basic support in use and setup of forming process control systems including but not limited to inverters, drive systems, servo systems, sweep out systems and weight controllers.
Working closely with departments as Batch and Furnace, Mould and Machine Repair, Quality and Batch and Furnace to suggest improvements.
An understanding of mold repair and machine repair technology and their relationship to Forming function is welcomed.
Language: English and Italian are required to communicate with customers and Bottero HQ.
Availability is required to travel and reach customer’s sites globally.
Spend a total amount that can reach 150 days per year for services at customer’s site, including days of travel and idle days
