We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Data Engineer & DevOps Specialist to design and implement data models, catalogs, ETL workflows, and data platforms that power large-scale AI and IoT applications. This role combines deep expertise in data engineering and DevOps practices, ensuring robust, automated, and scalable data ecosystems. You will collaborate with Data Science teams, software engineers, and ML Ops specialists to enable seamless data-driven intelligence across global applications. Why Schindler? Your Responsibilities Design and implement data models, data catalogs, and metadata management for big data applications. Build and optimize ETL workflows and data pipelines for structured and unstructured data. Architect and maintain data platforms leveraging cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP). Define and implement DevOps practices for data engineering environments, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation. Ensure data quality, governance, and security compliance across platforms. Collaborate with AI and ML Ops teams to enable model training and deployment through robust data flows. Evaluate and integrate big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop). Drive performance tuning, scalability improvements, and cost optimization for data systems. What You Bring Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering and DevOps roles. Expertise in data modeling/cataloging and big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop). Hands-on ETL and real-time data processing experience. Strong programming skills in Python and SQL. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical discussions. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus. Qualifications That Will Strengthen Your Profile Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field. Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
