We design and develop products that combine a simple and intuitive user experience, data‐driven processes, and Artificial Intelligence, following a lean approach and focusing on solutions that generate real value and a positive impact on people and the planet .
Flexibility – work remotely or join us at our Milan HQ whenever collaboration (and fun) We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong technical leadership skills and hands‐on experience in data infrastructure projects to collaborate on an innovative project developed by Startup Bakery.
Key responsibilities Design and oversee end-to-end data architecture (ingestion, transformation, storage, consumption) on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
Coordinate and develop scalable and reliable data pipelines collecting data from IoT devices and other sources.
Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to ensure predictive models and analytics are efficient, production‐ready, and reproducible.
Ensure data quality, governance, and security, including the definition of standards and best practices.
Monitor data system performance, handle troubleshooting, and drive continuous optimization.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in Data Engineering roles (ETL/ELT, pipelines, data warehousing).
Strong proficiency in data programming languages: Python and SQL (other languages are a plus).
Familiarity with data modeling concepts, APIs, and IoT integrations.
Part-time freelance collaboration
Remote-first, with optional access to our Milan office
