We are looking for a Field Service Engineer, located in the North of Italy, and operating for our Process Automation / Process Industries Division unit (PAPI) / Sesto San Giovanni (Milan-Italy). Execute service work according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. In close cooperation with customer and other ABB teams, take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB. The main area of activity is on ABB products, systems and solutions, like e.g. DCS (Distributed Control Systems), QCS (Quality Control Systems) and WIS (Web Imaging Systems), supplied by ABB in the Pulp & Paper industry, mainly in Italy and occasionally abroad. This position reports to Service Operations Manager Your responsibilities Perform installation, commissioning and service activities on DCS, QCS (measurement scanners and sensors) and WIS in Pulp & Paper plants. Perform field service tasks, identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activities. Troubleshoot Equipment/Process failures, both on site and from remote, and execute the needed corrective actions. Perform on call service and technical site interventions on 24/7 shifts. Contribute to customer satisfaction and ensure customer retention, expansion of provided services by delivering superior customer experiences. Proactively investigate, cooperate, analyze and promote, in coordination with the engineering and sales functions, new services and solutions to be offered (e.g. in the area of Advanced Services). Prepare all needed documents and customer reports in a timely manner. Your background High school diploma in technical area (Industrial Automation engineering degree is appreciated). Minimum 3 years of experience in field service activities; Knowledge and experiences on Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or PLCs and Network protocols and devices (TCP/IP, Switches, media converters, etc.). Availability to travel for frequent short or medium duration missions (mainly in the North of Italy and occasionally in Italy or abroad) and availability for on call service and technical site interventions. Ability to proactively manage the relationship with the customer, even in critical situations, autonomy and teamwork. Languages: very good knowledge of Italian (C1/C2) and good knowledge of English (B2). Suitable skills with standard Office PC software tools, e.g.: Microsoft Office.
