Head of Quality

At our Luxembourg location, our robotics and mechanisms division leads technically advanced projects in space applications, from precision robotic systems to mechanical solutions for space missions. Our work spans the entire product lifecycle, including early-phase studies, conceptual design, qualification testing of prototypes, full integration and testing of flight hardware, and support during launch campaigns. This role focuses on overseeing quality assurance and production assurance to ensure products, processes, and services meet customer requirements and industry standards. Job description The ideal candidate must have space experience and will oversee quality assurance and production assurance across the organization, driving improvements in product quality and process effectiveness. Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain efficient quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure products, processes and services meet customer requirements, costs, and appropriate industry standards. Derive company-wide QA policies for each running project reflecting customer expectations and standards (e.g., ECSS, NASA, Military, IPC). Establish and maintain quality control systems ensuring compliance with defined policies and procedures. Conduct regular audits of production processes and procedures to identify improvements. Conduct quality audits to enable eligibility for Approved Vendors List. Assist engineers in forming materials and parts databases according to quality constraints. Develop preventive and corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence (e.g., FRS/Corrective Action). Collaborate with Program Management and Engineering Leads to resolve quality issues and maintain standards. Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (defects, customer complaints, compliance rates) to identify trends and drive improvements. Coordinate and manage QA and PA aspects of new product development to ensure quality requirements are met throughout development. Support process pilots to improve operational efficiency. Lead the quality team in implementing processes and company standards for problem solving, non-conformance management, inspection, and inventory control. Represent the voice of the customer in quality discussions. Qualifications Engineering experience in Mechanisms/Robotics and/or Electronics/Electrical fields. 5 years of experience in quality and production assurance management (preferred). Strong knowledge of QA principles, tools, and techniques. Experience managing and mentoring a QA/PA team. Experience with Root Cause Analysis, First Article Inspection, and Safety Assurance tools. Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) preferred. Willingness to travel as required. Desired Skills Design for manufacture and product development lifecycle experience. QA tools including root cause analysis, corrective action, QMS, process auditing, and statistical analysis of quality metrics. Experience leading an operational team of hourly employees in production or quality. Graduate degree in a technical or management field. Excellent communication across all levels of the organization. Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Ability to establish priorities, work independently and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Strong documentation and configuration control experience. ISO 9001/AS9100 experience.
