The Data Center Infrastructure Operations organization is looking for an individual with proven skills to help support our Facility Operations Center (FOC). The FOC is responsible for 24/7 monitoring of the data center's physical infrastructure, ensuring consistent, reliable, and detailed service for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of Infrastructure, be proficient in computer and communication skills, and provide assistance to onsite operations teams to maintain overall availability and reliability. Eligibility: U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, and willingness to obtain clearance for each agency for which they perform AWS work. Key Job Responsibilities Respond, acknowledge, investigate, and dispatch critical alarms Monitor the facility infrastructure platform Perform change management tasks Create and issue tickets Follow verbal and written directions Have an intermediate level of understanding of critical infrastructure Maintain proficient computer and communication skills Shift work, overtime, and/or rotating schedules to support a 24/7 environment (includes weekends, nights, holidays) A Day in the Life The Facility Operations Center (FOC) serves as the centralized 24/7 remote monitoring center for AWS data centers' critical physical facilities infrastructure systems. We support availability by assisting internal teams in communicating prompt and accurate alarm and event notifications and enforcing Change Management policies. The FOC ensures safety across all AWS data centers by enforcing Change Management policies and acts as the communication hub during emergency and normal operations. About the Team The FOC is a singular support team that proactively monitors life‐safety systems and infrastructure equipment alarms (e.g., chillers, temperature sensors, generators, UPSs, switchgear, breakers, PDUs, ATSs) that provide power and cooling to the platform 24/7/365. We support Data Center Engineer Operations teams responsible for the operation of infrastructure equipment. Our role is to ensure that critical alarms are properly responded to, acknowledged, investigated, and dispatched (RAID). The FOC also serves as a communication hub during both standard and emergency operations. Basic Qualifications Experience in relevant work 3 years of technical support experience, or a Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent Experience documenting technical customer issues and 1 years of customer‐facing IT role or physical security systems/infrastructure work experience Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with polygraph Preferred Qualifications Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems 3 years of customer service experience 3 years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. For salaried roles, your Amazon package will include sign‐on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
