Your roleBring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world's MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You'll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. In this role, you'll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you'll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe's core data.

Key Responsibilities
Developing and testing Java microservices based on predefined architectural and functional specifications;Contributing to the development of orchestration, integration, and data synchronization services;Implementing REST APIs documented using the OpenAPI 3.0 specification;Writing automated unit and integration tests, while contributing to the overall quality and maintainability of the codebase;5+ years of experienceProficiency in Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x;Experience in designing and implementing applications based on the microservices architectural pattern;Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis;Familiarity with Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging systems;Ability to develop and consume RESTful APIs;Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift;Solid experience in automated testing using JUnit 5;Experience with static code analysis tools to ensure code quality and security;Basic knowledge of structured logging, monitoring, and observability practices. Ability to independently manage technical tasks, from requirements analysis through implementation;Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with architects, business analysts, and testers;Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to project and security standards;Good technical documentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders. The following skills and experience will be considered a plus: Experience in mainframe-to-cloud migration projects or legacy system modernization initiatives;Experience in developing with Python;Knowledge of Spring Cloud Gateway, Resilience4j, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry;Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins);Experience with data integration and synchronization solutions in hybrid cloud/mainframe environments. Experience working in environments with stringent security, audit trail, and traceability requirements;Experience with platforms heavily dependent on integrations with external systems and legacy back-end environments. The position will be governed by the Italian National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees of the Metalworking Industry (Contratto Collettivo Nazionale di Lavoro per i dipendenti dell'Industria Metalmeccanica e della Installazione di Impianti), with classification as Impiegato. The employment contract may be offered as a permanent employment contract (contratto a tempo indeterminato).
The starting salary for this position in Kyndryl Italia Innovation Services is 43.420,00 based on a full-time schedule at the time of posting. Your final compensation offer may vary depending on several factors such as, geographical tier, job-related skills, education and experience that selected candidates bring to the team.
