This employment opportunity is open to residents of Iqaluit only.
Under the direction of the Economic Development Officer, this position is responsible for overseeing the municipality’s support and involvement with the Inuit Child First Initiatives (ICFI). The incumbent will play a key role in administering and managing the ICFI food voucher program, ensuring effective distribution and access to nutritious food for Inuit children and their families. Additionally, the position will involve coordinating with community stakeholders, tracking program outcomes, and providing regular updates and reports to municipal leadership.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
High School diploma or equivalent
Financial reporting experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and working with computers.
Excellent written and communication skills
Project management experience
Work experience in Municipal, Territorial or Federal Government, or not-for-profit environments involving communications, programs or service delivery.
Assets:
Ability to speak and write in English and Inuktitut preferred
Experience and confidence speaking to members of the public
Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Working with tight deadlines
Confident in reading and writing reports and other documents
Ability to follow directions and instructions
Equivalencies that include a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education and previous experience may be considered.
