S. Space Force programs.br/You will initially support an active government space program, taking ownership of a meaningful portion of its operational software. The work is approximately 70% backend and 30% frontend, with opportunities to contribute across additional customer programs and internal products over time.br/This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys working across architecture, development, integration, deployment and production support.br/h3What You’ll Do /h3ulliBuild and maintain operational software for space and defense programs. /liliDevelop backend services and APIs using Python, C#, Java or similar languages. /liliCreate REST APIs, data-processing workflows and customer-facing web applications. /liliWork with spacecraft, ground-system, telemetry, mission-simulation or related aerospace data. /liliDeploy and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. /liliSupport secure CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and production monitoring. /liliTroubleshoot software across development, test and deployed customer environments. /liliCollaborate with aerospace engineers, program leaders, customers and prime contractors. /liliHelp translate customer requirements into scalable technical solutions. /liliTake increasing ownership and become a technical subject-matter expert for assigned programs. /liliContribute to internal products and additional customer projects as priorities evolve. /li /ulh3Required Experience /h3ulliFive or more years of professional software engineering experience. /liliProfessional experience building production applications—not only scripts or test automation. /liliStrong backend development experience, ideally using Python. /liliExperience designing and integrating REST APIs. /liliHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. /liliExperience owning software through design, development, testing and deployment. /liliBackground supporting aerospace, spacecraft, ground systems, mission operations, modeling and simulation, or another closely related technical environment. /liliExperience working independently within a small, collaborative engineering team. /liliBachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. /liliU.
