We are looking for a Data Engineer Specialist to join our Operations and IT Department. Application must be submitted in English *
* The Data Engineer Specialist handles daily operations and contributes to new initiatives on GEB’s Data Ingestion Tool platform. The Data Engineer Specialist works with the Product Owner and cooperates with other colleagues in the COO area, such as business analysts and IT, as well as business departments. Develop ingestion pipelines using PySpark and Databricks based on provided design specifications. Implement data quality validation rules within the established framework. Support CI/CD integration by using pre-configured Azure DevOps pipelines (no setup required). Maintain documentation in Jira and Confluence, including updates to training and enablement content as features evolve. Support business engagement by attending meetings with key departments and assisting in training sessions when needed. Assist in identifying system/process improvements, and share suggestions with the team. Provide operational support for integrations, tools, and third-party applications. Translate business requests into clear technical specifications to support development and testing. Able to understand business needs and help translate them into technical tasks. Positive and flexible approach to working in a team. Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering projects, ideally in insurance or financial services. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus. Hands-on experience with: Python (PySpark) and Databricks PostgreSQL, REST and Graph APIs, and Azure Data Services Familiarity with Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and Delta Lake for scalable data processing and versioning. Basic understanding of Unity Catalog for metadata and access control. Exposure to Git, CI/CD practices (e.g. Azure DevOps), and optionally Terraform. Comfortable working in Agile teams using tools like Jira and Confluence. Experience in B2B environments or cross-functional teams is considered an asset. Degree in computer science, engineering, or IT-related fields (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
