Role: Senior Grid Connections Manager
Location: Rome or Milan (Hybrid)
Piper Maddox are working with a leading IPP that is looking to expand its team through the crucial addition of a Senior Grid Engineering Manager. This IPP focuses on building and operating a diversified portfolio of wind, solar, and energy storage assets across Europe and the US, with this role based in its Italian branch.

This role focuses on delivering grid connection and electrical engineering support for renewable energy projects across Italy. Review and compare grid connection solutions, considering cost, programme, and technical risk.
Provide electrical engineering input to multiple projects, working alongside project, engineering, and commercial teams.
Track regulatory and market changes affecting onshore transmission and assess their impact on project development.
Develop HV and MV electrical concepts and designs across feasibility and detailed design stages.
Specify and select major electrical equipment, including substations, transformers, and cabling.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in grid and electrical engineering roles.
Strong understanding of the Italian power market, grid codes, and connection processes (TERNA and E-Distribuzione).
Fluent in Italian and English.
