You’ll work on state‑of‑the‑art research, advanced software tools, new AI systems, and machine learning algorithms, leveraging Amazon’s in‑house tech stack to bring innovative solutions to life. As an Applied Scientist, you will leverage your technical expertise and experience to collaborate with other applied scientists, software engineers and research scientists from other disciplines to research and develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to solve difficult problems. Our team focuses on utilizing the latest research, tools, and technologies to build experimental AI/ML features and tools to revolutionize the hiring process at Amazon. Our goal is to move quickly to test ideas, evaluate and improve promising features, then scale impactful features into the production workflow.
PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
~ Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
~ Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high‑performance computing
Experience using Unix/Linux
Experience in professional software development
