Position Description

We are looking for a dPCR Field Application Specialist to join our Life Science Sales Team by supporting Italy.

This person will be responsible for driving consumable sales on the QIAcuity platforms through pre- and post-sales support including trainings, demonstrations, and application support while working closely with the local territory teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding customer-centric sales process to support customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Providing customer demonstrations and trainings as well as on and off-site application support to ensure our customer’s successful implementation of our digital PCR solutions.
  • Preparing and presenting seminars to a wide array of audiences.
  • Autonomous planning and tracking of activities through use of our company Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, done on a weekly / monthly basis.
  • Supporting and achieving the European sales target by delivering product line specific pre- and post-sales related customer activities.
  • Acting as liaison between the product management / R&D and target customers.
  • Training and assisting other departments as well as playing a major role in introducing and supporting new products / applications.
  • Continuously updating scientific knowledge for support of customers, sales and product management on the leading edge of technology.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum Master of Science or equivalent; PhD and/or laboratory experience advantageous.
  • Proven experience with molecular biology and related techniques such as sample preparation.
  • Experience in the Life Science industry and knowledge of relevant markets, as well as experience presenting complex technical material both in text form and verbally (required).
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems.
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a results-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and people-oriented team player.
  • Strong organization skills, analytical thinker, and problem solver.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% within Italy, with possible overnight stay. Travel to other European countries will also be required.
  • Self-motivated and determined to succeed.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven scientific acumen.
  • Very good written and verbal English and Italian language communication skills.
