Finance Manager – Rome - Are you a hands-on Finance Manager ready to lead the finance function for an ambitious, international business in Italy?- Do you thrive in environments where accuracy, compliance, and operational discipline are just as important as commercial insight? MacGregor Black are partnering with a private equity–backed international business on the appointment of a Finance Manager in Rome - a strategic hire strengthening the Italian operation during a period of international consolidation and growth. You will act as the senior finance lead for Italy, driving robust financial governance, process optimisation, and operational efficiency, while ensuring the Italian entity is fully aligned with Group reporting standards and providing actionable insights to guide commercial and operational decisions. The Opportunity Reporting to Group Finance in the UK, you will own the full finance function for Italy, delivering accurate statutory and management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring financial processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned across the wider European network. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on approach, thrives on process improvement and compliance, and wants exposure to international finance operations in a high-growth, PE-backed environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Control & Reporting Lead statutory and management accounting activities for the Italian entity, maintaining hands-on oversight of day-to-day operations. Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, aligned with Group reporting standards. Deliver clear management reporting to Group Finance, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash-flow commentary. Ensure compliance with Italian GAAP, tax regulations, and Group governance policies. Business Partnering - Act as a trusted finance partner to Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams, supporting pricing, margin analysis, and commercial decision-making.- Collaborate with local leadership and Group FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning cycles. Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement Strengthen financial controls and risk management, promoting best-in-class processes. Identify opportunities to simplify and improve financial processes through automation and standardisation. Support ERP improvements or migration activity (hands-on experience beneficial, not essential). Ensure adherence to Group policies and alignment with multi-entity, multi-currency structures. Leadership & Collaboration Collaborate effectively with Group Finance teams, including Consolidation, FP&A, and Commercial Finance. Where applicable, manage and develop local finance support staff. Support integration activities relating to systems, processes, or cross-border collaboration. What We're Looking For Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or Italian equivalent). Strong technical finance background with experience in financial control within an international or multi-entity environment. Solid knowledge of Italian accounting standards and statutory requirements. Experience in PE-backed, high-growth or fast-paced environments. Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide clear, actionable insights. Experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders and supporting commercial decision-making. ERP knowledge preferred (ideally SAP Business One); consolidation tools experience is beneficial. Fluent in Italian and English.
