Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No /ph3Offer Description /h3pSingle ventricle defects are among the most severe forms of congenital heart disease and are palliated through a series of surgeries culminating in the Fontan procedure. Although patient survival is substantially improved, progressive circulatory failure may develop over time, requiring heart support. However, current ventricular assist devices are poorly suited to the unique physiology of the Fontan circulation.br/To address this unmet clinical need, this project will investigate the feasibility of a minimally invasive pump designed for chronic Fontan support without requiring additional open-heart surgery.br/Computational modelling will be used to: i) develop the structural design of a pumping system suitable for catheter-based delivery and stable deployment in the venae cavae of Fontan patients, ii) assess improvements in circulatory flows and pressures by investigating the interaction between the pump and the native circulation. /ppQuality, originality, and innovation of the research proposal, with reference to the research program covered by this selection (up to 10 points) /ppRelevance and significance of previous research activities and professional experience in relation to the research program (up to 30 points) /ppRelevance and significance of submitted publications with respect to the research program (up to 10 points) /ppInterview, aimed at assessing the candidate’s research aptitude, their ability to implement the proposed project, and their knowledge of English and/or other relevant languages for the research (up to 50 points) /pulliEUROPE /li /ulpbEligibility of fellows: country/ies of residence: /b /pulliAll /li /ulpbEligibility of fellows: nationality/ies: /b /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
