The Space Production Mechanical Engineer (AIT) will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components for satellites. The role will involve all stages of design, prototyping, testing, and validation, with the goal of ensuring that all components meet the high standards of quality, safety, and performance required for the space industry.
Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components for micro and small satellites, considering technical specifications, materials, and manufacturing solutions.
Create 3D models and detailed technical drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, etc.).
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate mechanical components into space systems, ensuring that all components are optimized for the space environment.
Analysis and Simulation
Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analyses to verify the performance of components under extreme operational conditions, such as launch and orbit.
Use simulation software (e.g., ANSYS) to test and validate the behavior of materials and mechanical components.
Provide solutions to optimize mechanical performance and reduce the risk of failure.
Testing and Validation
Plan, execute, and analyze test campaigns for mechanical components, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality requirements.
Collaborate with the Testing and Integration team to ensure components are ready for the assembly process and final integration into the satellite.
Propose improvements based on test results to optimize the robustness of components.
Create test and analysis reports to document the validation of components and design solutions.
Project Management
Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure that design activities are completed on time and within budget.
Monitor the progress of projects, promptly addressing any technical issues that may arise during development.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the aerospace sector or other high-tech industries.
CAD Skills: Advanced experience with design software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, or similar.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical simulation software for structural and thermal analysis (e.g., Understanding of materials used in the aerospace industry and mechanical design principles.
Teamwork: Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing and other fabrication technologies.
SPACE INDUSTRIES is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within its workplace and welcomes applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.
A unique opportunity for professional growth in a young and dynamic aerospace company.
The chance to work on innovative projects with a global impact in the small satellite sector.
