Proven leadership experience in a multi-site Engineering maintenance environment is essential.This position requires an Engineering professional who is a dynamic, high-energy, results-oriented, individual with both the stamina and mental agility to be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, innovative, customer-centric environment.
Key AccountabilitiesStrategic
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Amazon's growth in the region/pillar.
- Responsible for the formulation, adherence and tracking of Facility Engineering capital expenditure (CAPEX) across the region. Deliver the required availability of all infrastructures in their region to meet customer demand whilst remaining within operational budget.
- Engage and work closely with the regions strategic leaders in Operations, Transportation, Finance and Supply Chain to ensure an integrated approach is adopted that underpins growth and which delivers customer service excellence.
- Drive a culture of innovation in the team which will lead to improvements in safety, customer experience and system performance.
- Responsible for the overall building and facility maintenance (Reliability, Performance, Cost, etc.).
- Responsible for all preventative and reactive maintenance for installed equipment in the region, ensuring maximum equipment availability. (Conveyors, Sorters, Labeling Machines, Packing Machine, HVAC, Fire detection, etc.)
- Drive and improve equipment and process standardization across the region and the wider EU network.
- Provide feedback and condition analysis on equipment, performance and availability.
- Manage day to day issues on equipment with the regional Engineering teams, defining priorities with the Operations teams and working with the local teams to resolve TTs promptly and with detailed root cause and remedy.
- Support the Ops Engineering teams with installation of new Equipment.
- Effective in influencing, negotiating and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Provide technical guidance to field personnel.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Toyota Manufacturing System.
- An ability to create clear, concise narratives with supporting financial justification for capital investment and then delivery of complex technical solutions
- Provide leadership, direction, support and coaching to your direct reports, ensuring that they are fully engaged in delivering against the common, SMART goals and that they are developed to the limit of their potential. A key barometer of success in the leadership of the team is the creation and constant review of a succession plan.
- Through positive and visible leadership, develop a culture of challenge, continuous improvement and engagement to establish a right first time capability.
- Continue to build on the philosophy that "the customer needs come first and work back from there". Always ensure that the team is empowered to influence decisions that impact on customer experience.
- Able to switch from operating at a strategic level or a hands on level and understand when each is the appropriate approach to support the Team. Ability to function, think clearly and precisely to find the right solution in a fastpaced work environment
