As EHS Manager you are responsible for leading EHS for Caivano site, ensuring that the people and location are legally compliant and satisfy PPG Environmental, Health, Safety procedures, standards and processes.

You will be responsible for establishing an ongoing assessment of the implementation of the EHS Management System to comply within local legislation and PPG EHS requirements, and for generating a strategy for site investment in EHS related infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Actively interact with employees and leadership team to promote the EHS vision and drive the implementation of EHS compliance according to regulatory requirements and the PPG EHS Management System.
  • Drive key safety initiatives including Job Safety Analysis, site risk assessments, risk mitigation programs, and Change Management.
  • Support site management and provides education and review of incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Facilitate internal audits and EHS selfassessments.
  • Develop EHS training programs and support department managers/supervisors to ensure the proper implementation.
  • Develop and drive the implementation of programs to reduce EHS risks.
  • Act as member of the local Leadership Team lead by the site manager, facilitate meetings and supports local needs.
  • Coordination of site's EHS metrics management and reporting of EHS data.
  • Ensure that incident, injury and near miss investigations programs are in place and support the site team to ensure these are properly managed.
  • Evaluate EHS Impacts of projects and follow up to ensure that EHS risk assessments and control programs are completed.
  • Provide oversight, audit readiness and guidance for compliance audits from regulatory and PPG authorities and corrective action management.
  • Initiates and manages specific EHS projects.
  • Act as Responsible for the Service of Prevention and Protection for the site according to D. Lgs. 81\2008 and coordinate the local EHS and emergency response team.
  • Coordinate site security programs, environmental and Seveso compliance programs.
  • Interact with local authorities and agencies for permits and regulatory obligations to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and prioritize needs, propose and get approval for EHS local budget, and manage it accordingly in full alignment with Site Leadership Team and Country guidelines.
  • Implement the EHS strategy by developing and aligning local plans; provide proactive feedback to the Country Manager to ensure strategy sustainability and adaptability in the long term.
  • Be a member of the local Leadership Team, participates in local decisionmaking and supports local needs.
  • Ensure EHS resources are assigned as defined in the EHS responsibility matrix, service agreements and legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or equivalent Science field
  • Minimum 610 years of experience in the EHS field, preferred manufacturing or chemical setting with high complexity and covered by Seveso regulation.
  • Strong expertise of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques, and safety and environmental education and training
  • Qualification as Responsible for the Service of Prevention and Protection according law requirements (D.Lgs. 81/08)
  • Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Strong communication, solid leadership, influencing, mentoring; effective advisor to management and employees across a variety of issues.
  • Team working capabilities and ability to work under stress.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and to prioritize well, focusing resources in an appropriate manner across the site.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers with knowledge of MS office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Professional in organizational change and building a safety culture through influence and engagement.
  • Persistent selfstarter who can work optimally and lead/mentor others with minimum guidance.
  • Basic understanding of key business metrics, key drivers, business vision, and manufacturing processes/challenges as applicable.
  • Professional experience in companies highly structured with knowhow on lean six sigma or similar programs is a plus.
  • Proficient English
