The Associate Corporate Counsel will provide advice on legal issues, risk management and contracts to support the digital customer enablement teams and technology strategy.

This role will make an impact on technology and legal issues related to eCommerce, including B2B channels, partnerships and marketing.

In addition, the role will be providing legal guidance on experiences and technology including AI applications and generative AI.A person who proactively builds positive relationships, works collaboratively cross-functionally, influences through indirect authority, and communicates effectively will have the biggest impact.

We are offering the role as hybrid (4 days office, 1 day wfh), based from any of the following Thermo Fisher offices: Milan, Italy; Sofia, Bulgaria; Hillsboro, Oregon, USA; Morrisville, North Carolina, USA; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.

Some international travel will be required (mainly USA and Europe) – up to 10% per annum, including overnight stays.

What will you do?Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with a balance of risk mitigation and business-orientation, supporting Thermo Fisher's Digital and Technology business initiatives across Customer Enablement (eCommerce)

Serve a product counseling role for digital properties (web, apps, etc.), digitally integrated equipment (IoT), product integrations as an initial point of contact for various business teamsSupport legal tools, program governance and processes to improve legal service delivery and develop new legal processes, approaches, templates, playbooks to drive efficiencyDevelop and delivers appropriate legal trainings to business and legal team membersWorks across the Thermo Fisher Legal team including Division commercial attorneys, regional attorneys, Corporate subject matter experts including HR, IP, and Data Privacy & Compliance, Litigation and Regulatory professionalsParticipates in due diligence and other activities relating to M&A and integration activitiesManages the work of outside counsel from time to timeWho we are looking for:
Law degree required.

Admission to a state bar or international equivalent required.5-6 years of demonstrated ability in commercial contracts including 2-3 years in technology/digital-focused commercial contracts and product counseling.

Familiarity with Privacy and Cyber Security issues a plusAbility to develop strong, positive working relationships with the business and legal teammatesAbility to work across highly distributed teams across several time zonesThrives in a sophisticated, fast-paced, matrixed environmentAbility to exercise good commercial judgment, be solutions-minded, have a bias for action and have a creative approach to problem-solvingAdvanced level of EnglishNo experience working in life sciences requiredWhat's in it for you:Excellent career progression opportunities with a large and growing global employerCompetitive salary, plus annual incentive bonusFull benefits package (specifics depend on country of hire)
