What does the role look like?
You will join the engineering team as a System Analyst in the Environmental Control Systems (ECS) area of competence.

The role will encompass the development of high-fidelity digital models of existing ECS systems in order to allow detailed analyses of their performances, in view of possible product improvements, or to conduct troubleshooting in support of investigations.

The models will support the analyses both during the transients and the steady state conditions.

You will also be involved in the analysis of the results of the experimental tests to confirm or improve the accuracy of the models developed.


It is expected that your contribution will provide valuable expertise by means of a rigorous analytical approach and sound engineering practices.

As part of the Chief Engineering group, you will be a key contributor to the design evolution and improvement of our products, enabling the renewing of the environmental control systems and the advancement of their performances towards the next generation of more efficient and sustainable aircraft.


You will operate in an inclusive and dynamic working environment, in collaboration with the other engineering functions as required by the phase of the program.

It is required consolidated competence in the related engineering disciplines, including but not limited to the thermodynamics of air cycles, vapor cycles as well as knowledge of ECS components characteristics such as air cycles machines, heat exchangers, pressure control valves, different compressors type, etc.

High quality of the technical content and timely delivery of required outputs are key aspects of the role, as well as a thorough approach and an open mindset attitude.


What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?


Your role is a key contributor to the advancement of the state of the art of our ECS and to the renewing of the products in service.

You will leverage the data available from legacy experience, actual test data, or available researches to perform the assigned tasks.

Part of the role will be a thorough and targeted reporting of results and analyses output.

  • Validate and decompose requirements of applicable technical specifications.
  • Build or adapt available digital simulation models of components and systems. Conduct performance analyses and tradeoff analyses.
  • Validate the prepared models on the basis of data points and other supporting data available.
  • Analyse simulation results to verify compliance to the applicable requirements or identify areas of improvement.
  • Analyse test results and architect dedicated tests to enhance design models fidelity.
  • Participate to design reviews and technical meetings. Deliver high technical contents and participate to key project decisions based on substantiated analyses.

A sound engineering competence is the foundation pillar supporting the multidisciplinary aspects of the role.

Required skills:

  • PhD or equivalent level in aerospace or energetic engineering with solid competence in thermodynamics, pneumatics, and control systems disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5 year of background experience in related fields of the industry
  • Skilled in the use of the appropriate software tools
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of design, development, validation and verification processes of aerospace components and systems, particularly in relation to recognized industry and aerospace standards.
  • Rigorous approach to engineering tasks and problem solving.
  • Fluent Italian and good English written and oral (e.g. C1)
  • Availability to short travels between Italian sites and abroad

Desirable skills:

  • Expert level knowledge of AMESim and StarCCM+ or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge and use of MATLAB and Simulink software suites.
  • Agile approach to technical challenges. At ease in a fastevolving working environment and adaptable to contribute to different tasks as needed
  • Clear and targeted preparation of documents, presentations and other material supporting design reports
