PURPOSE OF THE JOB

A Sub-System Engineer is responsible for:

  • Overseeing and validating sub-system selection and managing sub-system development with suppliers and customers (TPM/TSE-TDE-TCE)
  • Adding products to the catalog during the activity of 'Product development' (development with suppliers)

Performance Measurement/KPI's

  • Connector fulfilled with gap analysis - WBS

Responsibilities

Project Engineering

General:

  • Ensuring that catalog product and catalogue process is fully applied in project with appropriate tools (Connector, costing tool...)
  • Preparing DR with suppliers (sub-system/product level) or with TPM/TSE (train/product integration level) Ensuring the quality of the deliverables (TSS E & Suppliers) Managing the technical Sub-System PSLI/RAMP
  • Ensuring that standard key design rules are applied with Platform and Sourcing colleagues
  • Ensuring that the Metiers tools are well applied (connector, costing tool, DRCL ....)
  • Supporting the sites if requested on critical technical issues Reporting the progress of the project (meetings, weekly/regular report) and
  • Being responsible for following its work-package and budget

Tender Phase:

  • Jointly with BTM and TPM/TSE/TAM fill in 'Entry 'connector' and issues Exit 'connector
  • Defining the relevant product with gap analysis on the connector
  • Jointly with the TPM prepares the technical assessment for Business Award Issues the technical description of the solution proposed to the Customer

Contract Execution Phase:

  • Assisting TPM/TSE/TAM in filling in 'Entry 'connector' and issues Exit 'connector' (Connector RSAD1)
  • Confirming the product selection or not based on gap analysis (connector 0 to connector 1)
  • Confirming the catalogue product reference
  • Driving technical development of the product until GFV in close relationship with suppliers if it is a catalogue product according to the WBS

Product Engineering

  • May on demand, manage some R&D work packages
  • When he is the owner of a TSS E Product/Architecture: Proposing yearly Sustaining Plan for the said Product or Architecture (Second Source, Management of Obsolescence, Redesign to Cost, New development) Driving the plan which has been agreed for the Ensuring the catalogue up to date about technical performance and quality performance Collecting and formalizing return of experience on solution

Problems Solving

  • Is asked by the TPM to address issues on local projects after GFV

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Master of engineering or equivalent from educational degree, completed with experience

  • Business English fluent
  • Ability to convince, to be able to switch between problem perspective to solution perspective, to challenge and to be challenged
  • Ability to work in a team and share easily work result (good communication skills and team spirit)
