Position: Project Engineer ( civils ) Location: Milan, Italy Who are we recruiting for: Our client is a leading IPP with a strong focus on solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS). With ambitious growth plans in Italy, including large-scale PV development and BESS hybridisation, the company is expanding its Global Engineering & Technical Support (GETS) team to support projects across the full development and construction lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary engineering team, primarily supporting projects in Italy while also providing remote technical support to international assets. What will you be doing: Act as a civil engineering technical reference within the GETS team, with a strong focus on Italian regulations, codes, and design standards Support PV and BESS projects across all phases, from early-stage development through EPC and commissioning Perform civil feasibility assessments for greenfield PV and BESS opportunities, including analysis of topographical, geotechnical, hydrological, and environmental data Develop preliminary civil layouts, earthworks analysis, and CAPEX estimates for civil scopes Conduct site visits and identify civil and construction-related risks, contributing to Investment Committee materials Carry out conceptual civil engineering activities, including foundation assessments for fixed and tracker structures, preliminary Civil 3D designs, and coordination of MV station foundations and access roads Deliver key civil drawings for RFQ processes and support contract negotiations Review PV and BESS layouts and EPC engineering deliverables in line with Italian standards and contractual requirements Support QA/QC activities, testing procedures, as-built documentation reviews, and site supervision during construction Collaborate closely with Construction, O&M, Asset Management, and external contractors to ensure technical alignment and high-quality project execution Identify opportunities to optimise design standards, construction procedures, and overall project quality Are you the ideal candidate? Minimum of 4 years’ experience in civil engineering roles related to solar PV projects; BESS experience is a strong advantage Strong knowledge of Italian civil codes and standards, including NTC 2018, Eurocodes, seismic zoning requirements, hydraulic risk, and concrete standards Solid understanding of PV and BESS project design, construction, and authorisation processes in Italy Proficiency with AutoCAD and PV Case; experience with Civil 3D preferred Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, ideally with a focus on renewable energy Fluent in Italian with strong technical English skills Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail Ability to work independently in a cross-functional, international team environment Willingness to travel within Italy (including Sicily) and occasionally internationally What’s in it: Competitive base salary plus benefits Exposure to large-scale PV and BESS projects in a high-growth renewable energy platform Long-term career development within a multidisciplinary and international engineering team Opportunity to contribute directly to the energy transition Who we are: Executive Integrity is a global executive search and recruitment consultancy for a more sustainable world, with a focus on talent within the Green Technology and Renewable Energy sectors.
