As we continue to expand our operations and influence, we are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. Location: Milan Position Overview: As a Senior Data Engineer at our startup, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive decision-making and enhance our products and services. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and product managers to develop and maintain robust data pipelines, optimize data infrastructure, and contribute to the creation of data-driven solutions that propel our business forward. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop scalable solutions to address them. Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure reliable data extraction, transformation, and loading. Collect, clean, and analyze large volumes of data from various sources, user interactions, and operational systems. Design and optimize data models and schemas to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning applications. Conduct data quality checks and monitoring to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our datasets. Work on the fleet health optimization reporting using our BI (for example Relocation) Utilize Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create visualizations and dashboards for effective data communication. Assist in building and maintaining data warehouses, data lakes, and other storage solutions. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and data analytics, and proactively contribute to improving our data infrastructure and processes. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL. Advanced knowledge of data processing frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka). Advanced knowledge of database systems (relational and NoSQL) and proficiency in SQL. Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Language Requirements: Proficiency in Italian and English Nice to Have: Experience with dbt and Apache Airflow. Knowledge of machine learning concepts and techniques.
