Director of Renewable Projects Development – Italy Location: Italy (flexible / remote-based) A leading international Renewable Energy IPP is seeking an experienced Director of Renewable Projects Development to lead and deliver a substantial and growing utility-scale portfolio across Italy. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for progressing projects from post-investment decision through to ready-to-build (RTB) status. You will oversee permitting, grid connection, land, offtake and stakeholder engagement, while managing a local development team and working closely with international headquarters and partners. With a multi-GW pipeline spanning solar, wind and energy storage, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of nationally significant projects and play a pivotal role in Italy’s energy transition. The Role Lead the execution of a large-scale renewable energy pipeline across Italy from post-origination to RTB. Manage and develop a team of project managers, setting clear goals, timelines and budgets Own relationships with key stakeholders including ministries, regions, grid operators and permitting authorities. Coordinate external partners such as co-developers, consultants, legal and engineering advisors. Oversee project budgets, schedules, risk management and reporting. Act as the key interface between the Italian business and international headquarters.
